THERE were nearly 500 positive coronavirus tests recorded in Somerset in the latest figures.
Somerset West and Taunton (SWT) saw an increase of 146 new cases, since January 8.
This brings the total for the district, since the start of the pandemic, to 3,634.
The latest rate of infection in SWT is 423.6 per 100,000.
Sedgemoor also saw an increase of 146, bringing the districts total to 3,416. And the latest rate of infection for this district is 457.1 per 100,000.
There were 109 positive tests in South Somerset which brings the total since the start of the pandemic to 3,306.
The latest rate of infection for South Somerset is 263.7 per 100,000.
Mendip had 87 new coronavirus cases, which brings the total to 2,091.
The rate of infection for this district is 273.4 per 100,000.
This brings the total of new cases in the last two days to 488.
