ONE Avon and Somerset Police patrol vehicle caught three motorists speeding at more than 100mph on the M5 yesterday (Sunday).

The fastest driver was going at 117mph, while another was doing 108mph and a third was clocked at 102mph.

A fourth driver was stopped by policing for travelling at 52mph in a 30mph limit.

Referring to the motorway speeds, an Avon and Someret Roads Policing Unit spokesperson said: "Clearly we have more work to do, if during lockdown on a Sunday we are finding these results on the motorway.

"Just from one patrol vehicle."

And following the 30mph breach, they added: "52 in a 30 limit on a Sunday, during a lockdown.

"In such difficult times, why on earth do we need to take such risk!"
