FIREFIGHTERS called to a fire in a bungalow this afternoon (Tuesday) discovered it was out by the time they arrived.
Three fire engines from Taunton and Ilminster were sent to the incident in Ganges Close, Fivehead, shortly after 2pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On arrival the crew found the fire was now out and the third appliance was stood down.
"The crew on scene had begun ventilating the property."
The fire had started in the kitchen and involved electrical wiring and kitchen units caused by unattended cooking.
The damage was confined to the kitchen area.
Small tools, a thermal imaging camera and a carbon dioxide extinguisher were used.
