A MAN from Weston-super-Mare has been jailed for 12 weeks, for assaulting two police constables.

Stephen Mark Emsley, of Locking Road, deliberately kicked and spat at the officers, with the threat of infectious disease.

The 46-year-old gave a guilty plea to the above offences, as well as that of trespassing and stealing a screwdriver set of unknown value.

As well as the prison sentence, he was ordered to pay £75 to each of the officers - £150 in total.

He was handed a further 12 weeks imprisonment for assaulting a police community support officer at a later date.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and that of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour - which was racially aggravated - and was ordered to pay a further £75 in compensation.

 

A Weston-super-Mare man has been handed a driving ban after pleading guilty to driving while under the influence of drugs.

Andreas Spanou, 31, of Bournville Road, was found to have controlled drugs Benzoylecgonine and Ketamine in his blood.

He has been disqualified from holding a driving licence for 36 months, and was also ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

 

A 22-year-old man from Weston-super-Mare was ordered to pay costs of £85 for damaging a glass and clothes rail, intending to destroy or damage such property.

Jake Aren Dare, of Trelissick Gardens, pleaded guilty to the offence, and was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £22.
