A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a woman died in a three-car crash on a main Somerset road.
Police have revealed that a 64-year-old woman from died when the car she was driving was involved in the collision on the A367 at Dunkerton Hill.
The woman, from nearby Peasedown St John, died from her injuries at the scene of the crash on Wednesday at about 10.45am.
Police say the 30-year-old man they arrested has since been released under investigation.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We now believe there were three cars involved in this incident - a VW Polo, which the victim was driving, a Ford ST and a BMW.
"The man arrested has been released under investigation to allow further enquiries to continue.
"We would like to thank everyone who has contacted us with information so far."
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who has Dash Cam footage that may be relevant to the investigation to call them on 101, giving the call handler the reference number 5221045724.
