SOMERSET artists have been tasked with brightening up Sedgemoor's buses - and they are looking for the public to get involved, too.

Between them, Karl Bevis, Fiona Campbell, Jem Dick and Sharon Jacksties have taken on three projects, which will produce artworks co-created with Buses of Somerset passengers and staff, and other members of the local community.

The finished works - covering multiple art forms, from poetry to photography and collage - will be displayed on 30 buses travelling around Sedgemoor.

In engaging members of the public to help with this community project, Art First, the artists will guide participants through the process, giving them tips on finding inspiration in everyday life and how that can be turned into artwork.

Campbell’s project All The Colours invites people to create a collage in one dominant colour, reflecting on their responses to a bus journey, the past year, a particular experience, mood, feeling, moment, personal or global memory.

The images will be part of a co-created artwork which will be transformed into a hologram chameleon, which will change colours at different viewpoints and will be featured on 30 buses.

Campbell will be running free, Covid-safe workshops, with prizes on offer and an online exhibition of all submissions.
