Covid deaths in Somerset
THE number of people who have died with Covid-19 has hit 200 in one Somerset district.
The 200th death since the start of the pandemic was recorded in Somerset West and Taunton in the latest 24-hour period.
There were no deaths of people with Covid-19 in the other three districts in the latest figures released this evening (Friday).
The deaths for any reason are of people who had tested positive for the virus within the past 28 days.
The total number of deaths in each district of the county council area now stand at 148 in South Somerset; 200 in SWT; 152 in Sedgemoor; and 158 in Mendip.
The county toll has now reached 678 since the start of the pandemic.
