POLICE are investigating the sudden "unexplained death" of a man in Bridgwater yesterday evening (Sunday).
Several police vehicles and ambulances were reported in the town from the evening into late at night.
The West Quay area of the town was cordoned off after officers were called to the scene at around 6pm.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson was quoted as saying: “At approximately 6.10pm this evening (Sunday, March 7) we were called to the West Quay area of Bridgwater following the sudden death of a male.
"Our enquiries are at a very early stage and at this time we’re treating the death as unexplained.
"Anyone with information that they feel may be able to assist our investigation is asked to call police on 101 and give the call-handler reference number 5221049146."
