THERE were 32 positive Covid-19 tests in Somerset in the latest 24-hour period.

Of those, 11 were in South Somerset, which has seen 5,184 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.

There were four confirmed cases in Somerset West and Taunton, taking its overall total to 5,859.

The 10 positive tests in Sedgemoor mean the district has seen 5,142 recorded cases over the past year.

And Mendip had seven positive tests, for an overall total of 3,366.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the county council area since the start of the pandemic has risen to 19,551.

The rates of infection in each district are 57 people per 100,000 in South Somerset according to the seven-day rolling figures, down from 64.7 per 100,000 the previous day.

In SWT it's 20.6 per 100,000 (up from 14.8).

Sedgemoor's figure is 41.4 (up from 36.5).

And Mendip is at 40.7 (down from 51).

There were no deaths in Somerset of people who had tested positive for the virus within the past 28 days.

The deaths tolls in each district remain at 148 in South Somerset; 201 in SWT; 153 in Sedgemoor; and 161 in Mendip.
