Three will go at the front of Coronation Park and three will go in the newly enclosed central reservation on Parkway.

Also in Coronation Park is a newly installed inclusive roundabout with sensory play panels.

"The trees are a great addition for the environment and another enhancement for future generations to enjoy," a spokesperson for Sedgemoor District Council (SDC) said.

"Working with Sydenham Improvement Group, we have also newly created public open space off College Way in Bridgwater.

"There are new picnic tables, a bark path, built a new accessible ramp and enclosed the area with fencing to make it feel like a destination to stop and play."

Four new swings will be added to Crowpill Lane Play Area - two for older children and two for toddlers.

There will also be a new climbing frame with slide and swings in Pollard Road play area in Bower, as well as as a similar climbing frame and a roundabout in Sunnybank in Hamp.

Talbot park in Highbridge will be getting new swings later this year.

"Our four-legged friends have not been left out either – we’re putting in new pathways into our designated dog exercise area at Coronation Park in Bridgwater," added the spokesperson.

"The site gets very wet and further to public requests we're pleased to be able to provide all weather access to the area.

"The exclusive exercise and agility area was built when the park was refurbished and offers a secure off lead space. There's also fixed dog agility equipment to try out."

Apex Park in Highbridge also has a new £10,000 dog agility area.

SDC have also had more than 100 responses to the Eastover Park survey, with resident's suggesting a climbing frame, swings, trampoline, sea-saw, springers, floor games and a roundabout.

SDC will now draw up specifications, and they hope for the work to be complete in time for the summer holidays this year.
