THE number of people who have died from coronavirus in parts of Sedgemoor has been revealed.

The latest data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows the location of every death where Covid-19 was the main cause on the death certificate.

There have been a total of 122,000 deaths in the UK since the start of the pandemic.

The data shows virus deaths that have occurred in England and Wales from March to January 2021.

In Bridgwater, the number of deaths in each area since the start of the pandemic is as follows:

  • Stockmoor & North Petherton, nine deaths
  • Bridgwater South, 17 deaths
  • Bridgwater East, 16 deaths
  • Wembdon & Chilton Trinity, 10 deaths
  • Bridgwater Town, 12 deaths
  • Bridgwater North, seven deaths
  • Westonzoyland, Ashcott & Cossington, 12 deaths
  • Cannington, Combwich & Nether Stowey, five deaths
  • Pawlett, Puriton & Woolavington, 10 deaths

In Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge, the figures are as follows:

  • Highbridge, 12 deaths
  • Burnham-on-Sea, 34 deaths
  • Berrow & Brent Knoll, 12 deaths
  • Wedmore & Mark, four deaths
