THE winners of the Christmas Lights competition in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge 2021 have been announced.

There were some outstanding sparkling festive decorations that have been lighting up the streets in the area over recent weeks.

And Burnham and Highbridge Town Council has now come up with the top entries after the difficult judging round.

Cllr Dawn Carey, one of the judges, said: “Residents and businesses of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge have kept community spirits high by creating fabulous displays for everyone to enjoy.

"We are very grateful to all those who have designed the most amazing festive displays.

"Thank you for brightening up our towns.”

Burnham-on-Sea.

A £25 winner’s voucher for use at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre will be awarded to Nick Gardner, of Trinity Close.

A £10 voucher, also for use at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre will be presented to the runner-up Joshua Male of Barrie Way, Burnham-on-Sea.

Highbridge.

The £25 winner’s voucher to be used at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre is going to Darren Bird, of South Avenue.

And a £10 voucher for use at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre will be given to the runner-up Alison Withers, of Worston Road.

The winners have been notified of their success by e-mail.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions, details of a presentation to hand over this year’s prizes will be released at some stage in the New Year.

Burnham and Highbridge Town Council has also been running a Christmas window competition for small businesses and shop fronts.

The entries were judged by members of the Chamber of Trade.

The overall winner was Material Needs, of High Street, Burnham-on-Sea, who will be presented with a £25 voucher for use at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.

And picking up a £10 voucher to spend at the theatre and arts centre will be Dusicake, of Oxford Street, also in Burnham-onSea.
