A TOTAL of 168 positive Covid tests were reported in the Sedgemoor district yesterday (Monday, January 3).
For the week between December 28 and January 3, 1,354 people had a confirmed positive test result, an increase of 54.4 per cent compared to the previous seven days.
The total number of coronavirus vaccines given in the district by the end of Sunday (January 2) stood at:
99,593 people had been given a first dose;
93,197 people had been given a second dose;
70,166 people had been given a booster or third dose.
Across the South West region, 106 people with coronavirus went into hospital on Saturday (January 1).
Between December 26 and January 1, 914 went into hospital with coronavirus, an increase of 62.6 per cent compared to the previous seven days.
There were 772 patients in hospital with coronavirus as of yesterday, of which 64 were on a mechanical ventilator.
There were no deaths of people in Sedgemoor within 28 das of a positive test for coronavirus in the week between December 28 and yesterday.
