RUNNERS took part in a 5k or 10k night run on Brean Down on Saturday (January 22).

Nearly 150 runners took part in the Storm the Fort event, which was organised by Channel UK Events CIC.

The company is a not for profit social enterprise, with the social aims of getting more people more active more often and supporting other small local businesses.

Director of Channel Events, Dan Brice, said: "A huge thank you to Stuart Lessels; INTEGY UK; the National Trust; Steve Vowles; Cut by Beam; The Safety Medical Group; BurnhamOnSea.com and the local running clubs.

"The biggest thanks of all though has to go to all of you who make up our amazing TRIBE of event marshals. Without you all, the event simply wouldn't happen. I am forever grateful.

"The entrants felt that as always our staff were friendly, approachable and always had smiles on their faces which can be hard on such a long chilly night. You are all fantastic and I cannot thank you enough for giving up your valuable time to help."

The next events run by Channel Events are as follows: Assault on Baggy Point, Croyde, North Devon on February 12 2022; Waters Meet, Lynmouth on March 12 2022 and One Fyne Night, Broomfield, Quantock Hills on April 9 2022.
