Somerset’s George Thomas has recovered well from the elbow injury that prevented him playing earlier in the season, and on Sunday at Taunton Vale he played for The Somerset Pathway Under 18s in their T20 games against Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.

In the first match against Northamptonshire the home side batted first and were given a flying start as Thomas and his Taunton St Andrews team mate James Rew shared an opening stand of 124 in 13.2 overs.

Thomas hit 68 off 47 balls which included six 4s and three 6s, while Rew ended up with 70 from 46 deliveries with 12 fours and one six to help Somerset post 182 for two.

In reply Northamptonshire reached 159 for four from their allotted overs, Jack Harding taking two for 19 off his four overs.

Against Warwickshire the hosts again batted first and posted 151 for six, George Thomas making 43 off 34 balls with five 4s and three 6s, while Fin Hill scored 59 off 35 balls with five 4s and four 6s.

When they replied Warwickshire reached 126 for nine, Will Crane returning with an impressive five wickets for eight runs from his four overs.
