THE residents, staff, trustees, and friends of Abbeyfield Independent living house, Burnham on Sea, celebrated Somerset Day on Wednesday, May 11.

After a lunch of Somerset pulled pork and beef chilli, proceedings commenced with a quiz about all things Somerset.

This was followed by a traditional skittles match. Everyone then enjoyed sampling various Somerset cheeses, ciders, and two types of homemade Somerset Apple Cake.

David Underwood, house chairman said: “A great time was had by all. “We would like to thank The Strange Catch, Weston Super Mare, Thatchers Cider, and Burnham Funeral Services for their help in enabling this day to take place.”
