A MAN who sadly died following a collision between two HGVs on the M5 between Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare has been named.

Luke Jonathan Danaher, 39, died at the scene of the collision on Friday, April 29.

The two-lorry collision took place at around 1:15pm on the northbound carriageway of the M5 between junction 22 (Burnham-on-Sea) and junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare).

Mr Danaher lived in Southmead, Bristol.

He was named at an inquest hearing at Avon Coroner's Court in Flax Bourton, Bristol, yesterday (Thursday, May 26).

No cause of death was given at the inquest and no date was set for the next hearing.

The inquest was heard by senior coroner Maria Voisin.

The driver of the other vehicle involved was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the collision, the motorway remained closed in both directions until around 3pm, when the southbound carriageway re-opened.

The northbound carriageway fully re-opened just after 8:30pm following recovery and clean-up work.
