As temperatures continue to soar across the UK, you would be forgiven for thinking Burnham-on-Sea was in an arctic microclimate today (Friday, June 17).

Temperatures in the South West climbed to 28 degrees but on the Burnham seafront, the wind clearly put people off.

Temperatures felt colder than on previous days and it was hard to believe that today was the hottest day of the year.

What was expected to be a day that people across the South West would be enjoying the sun, they instead had to avoid breezy areas such as the seafront as it was just too cold.

Burnham-on-Sea highstreet was much busier, with many deciding that avoiding the breeze, strolling past shops and viewing products was a better way to spend their Friday afternoon.
