A SOMERSET man accused of rape and sexual assault has been sent for trial at Mold Crown Court in Wales next month.
Ernest Robert Noddings, of Barton Close, Berrow, appeared at Taunton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 22 charged with rape, attempted rape, and sexual assault.
The 72-year-old is alleged to have committed the offences between 2009 and 2015 in Newtown.
Court documents say there was a “plea of not guilty or none indicated” for each charge.
Between December 31, 2009, and January 1, 2011, Noddings is accused of:
- Raping a girl under the age of 13
- Two counts of assaulting a 10-year-old girl
Between December 31, 2013, and January 1, 2015, he is accused of:
- Attempting to rape a 14 or 15-year-old girl
- Raping a 15-year-old girl
- Two counts of assaulting a 15-year-old girl
Noddings was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Mold Crown Court on Friday, July 15.
