THOUSANDS of people came to Highbridge to enjoy entertainment and workshops and experience healing and complementary therapies at the weekend.

The Healing Weekend, now in its seventh year, was held between Friday, July 8 and Sunday, July 10.

The event featured over 180 exhibitors and around 90 workshops, and there was also live music, performances, and evening shows. 

Performers included Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist Gracie Wickens-Sweet and Australian vocalist Lou Van Stone.

The Healing Weekend is organised by Elaine Fenton.

Before the event, Elaine said: “The Healing Weekend is now one of the best-loved events of its kind in the UK, attracting thousands of visitors from as far as Australia, Spain, Germany and Holland.

“We have an amazing array of stands and exhibitions for people to browse and enjoy, plus a full programme of workshops which run throughout the three days.

“This really is a first-class event Somerset can be proud of, supporting the first-class charity, Secret World.”

The Healing Weekend aims to allow people to “experience a wide range of healing and complementary therapies and learn about the possible benefits”, bring ‘healers’ and holistic businesses together, and provide a networking opportunities for attendees.

It also “honours and remembers the life and work of the late Bill Harrison who vision will always lay at the heart of the event”.
