A CHARITY event will take place in Mark in aid of a charity that supports the most vulnerable in Gambia.

Antonia Robinson-Cole and Ashleigh Dewbery-Lugg, set up the event which will take place on Saturday, July 23 to raise funds for Winged Dreams.

Winged Dreams has been formed to help vulnerable people in Gambia over 15 years ago.

The charity fundraiser will feature a community party with drinks, cake, glitter tattoos, and face paintings.

Antonia said: “We met at a networking meeting called Mums in Business right here in Mark.

“We connected instantly myself and Ashleigh, with an eye for everything creative, joined forces to open a one-stop event shop called Parties For You.”

Antonia, a mobile beautician with a background in childcare, also added: “We do everything from small gatherings to the full commercial event.

Over a Christmas get-together, Ashleigh explained about the charity she sponsors to Antonia and that they needed football boots for the children of their team.

Antonia also said: “We then started up a football boot collection where we covered Sedgemoor and Mendip and North Somerset collecting old football boots to donate to the charity.

“This was massively successful and we still ask people to donate football boots they can arrange collection or drop off via office@parties4you.com or bring along to the event on Saturday.

“We wanted to find a way to support this charity further through our business so we have put together a charity fun day where the children can see what one of our suppliers is like, enjoy face painting, glitter tattoos, cupcakes, and many local businesses are going to come along to support too.

“We look forward to seeing you all there.”

The event will take place at Mark Village Hall from 11am to 1pm bring some pennies and join the start of the summer party we are hosting for you all.

Tickets are £3 for children, and £1 for adults and are available at the door and all proceeds will go to this amazing charity.

The charity’s mission is to improve the poor conditions in which Gambian families lived, homes of one room, lacking the most basic of needs, no running water, no electricity, and little or no food.
