FOR the first time since July 2019, runners from across Somerset joined locals to run the “Pawlett Plod” to raise £1,000.

This year there were two races, the usual 10 km race was organised by Highbridge Flooring, and Burnham Harriers (Part of the Somerset series of races) and raising money to support “Rusty Road to Recovery”.

This charity helps support people who are struggling with mental health issues.

In addition, this year, there was a fun run, staged to encourage and help support the Pawlett pre-school which passionately cares for the village’s toddlers.

Both Charities were there on the night, and their staff and supporters helped to run the two events.

The evening was a great success, and managed to raise over £440 for “Rusty Road to Recovery”, but Highbridge Flooring has added a further donation to bring up the total to £1,000.
The Pawlett pre-school fun-run raised over £640.

Cheques were presented, on Saturday, prior to the anniversary Park Run. After this success, there are plans to run the event in July 2023.
