TWO layouts that featured in a Channel 5 television programme appeared at the Burnham & District Model Railway Club's weekend show.

The club held a model railway show at The King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge on Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28.

Among the 15 layouts were two from Channel 5's The Great British Model Railway Challenge, including the ‘Jurassic Park’ semi-finalist in a rebuilt format with all its original features.

Before the show, a Burnham & District Model Railway Club spokesperson said: “We have lots are see with a number of interactive displays.

“You can have a go driving a steam-powered engine, or push the buttons on the remade layouts from the Channel 5 TV series The Great Model Railway Challenge!

“We have award-winning layouts that have featured in the railway model press, scratch-built engines and model railways in all the popular gauges. And we have a number of model railway traders including some new to our show.”

One attendee said: “Thanks so much for a wonderful exhibition today. At least one small boy came home very happy indeed!”
