MORE than 280 people attended the third annual Somerset Disability Ball at Oake Manor Golf Club.

Most of those present at the event on Wednesday (October 19) are living with a disability.

Guests enjoyed a two-course meal, disco with DJ Dave Lee, live performance by Sventeen, fireworks and many other fun activities.

Supported by the Rotary Club of Taunton, the non-profit event is organised in conjunction with Green Days Care Centre, which provides, care, support and training for people with disabilities and learning difficulties across Somerset.

Green Days’ aim is to ensure that no matter what the barrier, everyone can enjoy their life to the full.

Steve Purchase, manager at Oake Manor, said: “This important event is a highlight in our calendar and a firm favourite with our staff.

"It is incredibly heart-warming to see everyone having such a brilliant time and we are really proud to be involved.”

Mark Lancaster, personnel manager at Green Days, said: “We love supporting this event and it’s amazing to see the see the huge enjoyment on everyone faces."

Ticket price for the event is kept low as a result of sponsorship from the Rotary Club of Taunton, Oake Manor and Carly Press.
