PUBLIC toilets in Burnham-on-Sea have recently posed an issue for disabled residents.
Locals in the area have been unable to use the Esplanade disabled toilets.
There has been no alternative disabled toilet access available.
A Burnham and Highbridge Weekly News reader said the toilets have been "permanently locked".
Today, a "closed for maintenance" sign reportedly went up on the toilet door.
Somerset Council have revealed that they hope the toilets will be once again open for use today.
A spokesperson said: "The lock on the disabled toilet was faulty.
"Our contractors have tried to repair it on several occassions, but were unable to do so.
"They are there today with a new replacement lock, so hopefully it will be resolved."
