A CHARITY fishing competition organised by the sister of a 35-year-old man who passed away unexpectedly has raised an impressive £540.

The Emerald Pool Charity Fishing Match was held in Highbridge on Saturday, October 14.

The event was organised by Bev Brown, the sister of Luke Organ, who unexpectedly passed away last year, despite being described as "fit and healthy." His cause of death was cited as SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death).

The proceeds of the fishing match will help the charity SADS UK continue their crucial research.

The charity helped Bev deal with her grief. She said: "SADS charity has supported me with 10 weeks of counselling, obviously this doesn't come cheap, I want to give back and raise as much as I can in memory of my brother."

Speaking about the event itself, Bev added: "Brilliant day had by all involved.

"I would like to thank all those that took part.

"Also to Alan Wilkinson from Emerald fishery, Jay Bailey, Matthew Wilkinson and Charlie Wilkinson for all their help to make this happen."
