A new sponsorship deal has aligned with a winning streak for a Somerset rugby club.

Burnham-on-Sea Rugby Club, on Stoddens Road, secured a dominant 28-7 win over Clevedon wearing Unity Holidays-sponsored warm-up tops.

The victory marks Burnham’s ninth in a row and puts them one point clear at the top of the league.

Burnham overcame unfavourable weather conditions to deliver their best performance of the season so far, with Jamie Whitehouse named man of the match after kicking 13 points.

Tries came from captain Ryan Beard, Jude Donnelly, and Ethan James.

Jonny Green, resort director at Unity Beach, said: "Burnham-on-Sea Rugby Club sits at the heart of the local community, bringing together players, families, and supporters of all ages.

"The resort has a long-standing relationship with the club, with many of our own team members, past and present, playing for them or volunteering there.

"We’re thrilled to be backing the club’s ambitions on and off the field."

Unity Holidays, whose Unity Beach resort in Brean is just a few miles along the coast from the club, recently announced a two-year sponsorship deal with Burnham.

The partnership sees the Unity Holidays logo featured on all team shirts.

The club fields two senior teams, a colts team, and a junior and minis section for players up to under-16s.
