THERE are only a few hours to wait until the 42nd Highbridge and Burnham Carnival gets underway.

Thousands will descend upon the two towns to watch the annual spectacular - which organisers are hoping will be one of the best yet.

The event begins at 7.30pm near the Tesco roundabout before snaking along Love Lane, Manor Road, Victoria Street and onto the High Street, and finishing on Marine Drive.

Spectators are advised to arrive at least an hour before the start as many local roads close.

Car parking is available in various roads, the Oxford Street car park and the Morrisons supermarket.

As well as all the major Somerset clubs, including current overall winners Gremlins CC, Burnham-based club Hillview JCC (pictured) will be looking to repeat their success of last year.

The Weekly News will have a dazzling eight-page carnival special along with this Wednesday's edition, and stay logged on to this website for spectacular pictures and a brilliant video featuring all the best from what promises to be another unforgettable night.
