ARMISTICE Day was marked in Highbridge with a short service at Southwell House yesterday.

A small crowd gathered to remember the 91st year since the end of the First World War in the memorial gardens.

Town mayoress Christine Cooper and deputy mayor Danny Titcombe both laid wreaths as a mark of repect.

Scores of people across Burnham and Highbridge also observed a two-minute silence as the clock struck 11am.
