OVER £1,000 was raised at a pedal-powered horse racing evening held by campaigners fighting plans for a wind farm at Rooksbridge.
Over 100 people attended the event at Mark village hall which raised £1,310 to support the NoPilrow campaign against the building of four 130m wind turbines at Pilrow.
Seven races were won with guests getting the chance to buy each horse as well as place bets.
NoPilrow spokesman David Maund said: “It was a successful evening with everyone joining in and competing.
“I’d like to say a huge thankyou to all the team who made it possible.
“The added funds are welcome as we are stepping up our campaign in read-iness for the planning application.”
