Users of the email service AOL Mail have been experiencing issues this morning (Tuesday, June 28), with many facing problems accessing their emails.

Reports via DownDetector showed problems started occurring for some users at around 7.45am and had a massive spike just before 10am.

One user wrote: "AOL mail has been off-line for hours. Did AOL go out of business?????"

Another tagged AOL Support and put: "why can't I get into my emails - it keeps saying 'you are no longer logged into AOL, please log in again' - it is so annoying".

Meanwhile, another AOL Mail user posted: "Ah.. thought the #AolMail issue was something to do with my phone, but it seems everyone’s having issues reading their emails."

Some users were curious as to when the issue may be solved with one posting: "What is wrong with AOL mail and (more importantly) when will it be fixed? I am also getting the "no longer logged in" error."

Has AOL responded to the issues?

In a statement on their Twitter page at 9.45am AOL Customer Support wrote: "Some users may be experiencing issues with AOL Mail. We're aware of this issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible."

At the time of writing a timescale has not been stated for when AOL hope they can solve the issue.
