SWANS brought traffic to a standstill on the M5 earlier this morning (Tuesday, November 9).
The birds landed on the southbound carriageway of the motorway between Junctions 21 (Weston-super-Mare) and 20 (Clevedon).
National Highways South West reported that traffic was held soon after 9am, while the northbound carriageway was also stopped for a period.
The swans later flew off and traffic was released.
