THE top officer in Avon and Somerset Police says she wants to make the constabulary "the most inclusive police force in the UK".
In her New Year message, Sarah Crew has vowed to "turn up the dial" on criminals.
She also pledges to "strengthen and rebuild" communities in communities across the force area.
Chief Constable Crew said: "New Year is a time for reflection but also a chance to sharpen our focus on what lies ahead.
"In 2022, we'll turn up the dial on offenders through prevention, deterrence, disruption and convictions.
"We'll work with our partners to help reform and rehabilitate, with a renewed emphasis on problem solving in and with our communities.
"The pandemic continues to generate uncertainty, but we're certain about what we want to achieve.
"We want to strengthen and rebuild the confidence of all our communities and continue with our journey to become the most inclusive police force in the UK."
