POLICE believe a missing man could possibly be in a Somerset town.

Mark Smith, who has been missing since Monday (January 3), has links to Weston-super-Mare, according to Dorset Police.

Officers from the force are appealing for anyone who may know where Mark Smith to get in touch.

Dorset Police received a report at around 1.30pm on Monday raising concerns for the welfare of Mark, 33, of Portland, after he failed to turn up for work as expected.

He is described as white, 5ft 10in tall and of slim build with short mousey brown hair and tattoos on his arms.

Inspector David Parr, of Dorset Police, said: “It is out of character for Mark not to make contact with family or friends for a number of days and we are continuing to carry out a number of enquiries in a bid to locate him.

“I want to renew our appeal for anyone with information relating to his whereabouts to please come forward and we are issuing new images of Mark in the hope that someone might have seen him since the afternoon of Monday 3 January 2022.

“Our enquiries indicate he may have travelled to the St Ives area of Cornwall and he also has links to Weston-super-Mare in Somerset and the Brecon Beacons area of Wales.

“I would again like to make a direct plea to Mark if you see this, please make contact with us or your family as we all just want to ensure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Mark’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55220000921.
