A MOTORIST has been given five penalty points for driving without due care and attention on the A3259 at Monkton Heathfield.

Jack Nicholas Henderson, 34, of Kendale Road, Bridgwater, was also fined £440 for the offence on September 12 2020, along with a £44 victim surcharge, while he was ordered to pay £90 costs.

Henderson was found guilty of the charge in his absence at a hearing at Taunton Magistrates' Courts.

A YOUNG man has been jailed after he destroyed a police phone the day after he had been given a suspended prison sentence at Taunton Magistrates' Courts.

The court was told Bradley James Warwick, 24, of no fixed address, deliberately caused the damage so he could be rearrested.

Sending him down for four months, magistrates said he had a number of previous convictions and had shown a "blatant disregard" for the suspended sentence order.

Warwick committed his latest offence in Bridgwater on Sunday, January 9.

He was sentenced to two weeks consecutive to other sentences and ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.

He was jailed for a further four months for breaching an 18-month suspended sentence imposed in November for harassment and breaching a restraining order.

Warwick, who pleaded guilty to all offences, was handed six-week sentences (concurrent) for breaching a suspended sentence imposed for two counts of sending offensive, indecent, obscene and menacing messages.

A BISHOP'S Hull man has pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Taunton last July.

John Jurgensen, 50, of Farrant Close, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

He was handed a further £40 fine for breaching a conditional discharge imposed for harassment of a police constable.

METODI Yankov, 33, of Sloway Lane, West Huntspill, has been hit with a six month driving ban for driving without insurance on the A38 at Highbridge on December 16 2020.

He was fined £660 and must pay a £66 victim surcharge.
