TASHA McDermott received a 14-day ban for driving at 73mph in a temporary 50mph section of the M5 between Junctions 24 and 23 on January 17 this year.

McDermott, 33, of Embden Walk, Bridgwater, was fined £80 with a £34 victim surcharge.

JAMES Murray, 27, of Bath Road, Bridgwater, admitted driving at 42mph in a 30mph zone in Fore Street, Othery.

He was fined £326 with a £34 victim surcharge and £90 costs and received four penalty points.

A MOTORIST classed in court as a repeat offender has been banned from driving for six months.

Shaun Isaacs, 38, of Bath Road, Bawdrip, failed to give information as to the identity of a driver alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

He was fined £660 with a £66 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

FOR driving without insurance, David Charles Bennett received six penalty points and was disqualified from driving for six months.

Bennett, 34, of Deane Drive, Taunton, who admitted the offence, was also fined £320 with a £34 victim surcharge and £90 costs for the offence on the A38 at Taunton on January 13 this year.

WERNER Robert Devreker, 55, of Wembdon Orchard, Wembdon, pleaded guilty to speeding at 51mph in a 30mph zone in Rodway, Cannington.

He received six penalty points and was fined £576 with a £57 victim surcharge and £90 costs.

GRAHAM Victor Mackie avoided a driving ban after jumping a red light on the A358 at Blackbrook, Taunton.

Mackie, 63, of Church Close, Puddington, Tiverton, admitted the offence and was given three points. Although that took him over the limit for a ban under the totting up system, he was not disqualified as he is the main career of his 90-year-old mother.

He was fined £160 with a £34 victim surcharge.
