NATIONAL law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has been reappointed to the National Farmers Union (NFU) legal panel for the South West.

The appointment to cover the region for the next three years has been announced following an extensive extensive re-selection process.

The firm, which has offices near the M5 motorway in Taunton, will continue to cover the counties of Somerset, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

As a panel firm, the specialist and dedicated agricultural team at Clarke Willmott offers discounted legal services to NFU members in a wide range of sector-led contentious and non-contentious matters.

These matters include all types of disputes, including regulatory, agri-property and contentious probate, conveyancing, succession planning, diversification, renewable energy, planning, probate, family and commercial matters.

Esther Woolford, who is the head of the agriculture sector team at Clarke Willmott, said: “We have been on the NFU panel since its inception, and we are delighted to have been renewed for a further three years.

“This reflects our excellent relationship with the NFU generally and recognises the strength of the specialist legal offering Clarke Willmott has and can provide to the agricultural community.

"It highlights our status as one of the largest agriculture teams in the country.”

The NFU legal panel is recognised as a vital part of the services made available to NFU members.

It offered a total discount of more than £500,000 to its members in the last financial year.

Mel Squires, the NFU regional director for the South West region, said “We represent nearly 9,000 farming member businesses across the region and our legal panel firms are an important part of the service we offer.

"We work closely with them throughout the year and very much welcome Clarke Willmott's re-appointment, and the continuation of our relationship for the benefit of members."

Clarke Willmott LLP, which is based at Blackbrook Park Avenue in Taunton, is a national law firm with further offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester and Southampton.
