JUST 0.1 of a stroke separated the leading two teams in the final analysis of the Brean Boom Boom Cup on Saturday.

With the weather hot and sunny once again, the scoring was just as hot in the Texas Scramble event with 56.0 being the winning score.

Tony Groves, Stewart Garrett, Dave Mann and Paul Bacon were the owners of that figure and collected the Trophy played for annually in memory of former Brean member Keith Porter.

The quartet won by the narrowest of margins from renowned Scramble experts Simon Baunton, Steve Eley, Dave Porter and Phil Hodgson.

Adam Cox and Aaron Puddy were joined by the Lismore brothers, Byron and Scott, to take third with their score of 56.8.

The fourth and final prize went to Ladies' Captain Sue Wright, Lyn Bird alongside husband and wife duo John and Beverly Cranley on 57.2.

Dave Morris was one of the first players out on the course on Sunday morning and he carded a score no-one else could match in the July Monthly Stableford.

He amassed a best-of-the-day 44 points to take the win in Division Three ahead of Mike Smith on 36.

Murray Parsons never seems far from the top of results sheets lately and he collected another win with a 43-point return in Division One.

He won by four from Wayne Barrett and returned his handicap to single figures once again.

Mel Brown was the winner of Division Two with 40, a point better than runner-up Byron Lismore.

Beverly Cranley won the June Ladies' Stableford but only after a countback.

She scored 35, which was matched by Linda Edmondson.

Cranley enjoyed the better back nine with an impressive 21-point score to take the top spot ahead of Edmondson with Lyn Bird finishing in third on 34.

The Jubilee Plate was won by husband and wife duo Ron and Linda Edmondson on Sunday.

They scored 43 in the mixed greensomes event to win by five from another husband and wife pairing in the form of John and Beverly Cranley.

Don Edmondson and Lyn Bird took third on 36.

On a sweltering day, all the players that completed their rounds really deserved a Medal but just one player got that reward for his efforts.

Bob Masterman was that man as he produced a round of nett 72 to lead home Division Two from Bill Griffin.

In the top flight, Pete Douglas scored a nett 73 which left him a comfortable distance ahead of runner-up Colin Roberts in a smaller-than-usual field due to the M5 issues during the morning and the hot weather.

Captain Chris Stephens led his Seniors team to an emphatic win over the Tall Pines Seniors at Brean on Thursday afternoon.

The hosts scorched to a 5-1 win on home soil with three of those wins coming on the 13th green.

Bob Smith won last week's Midweek Stableford with a score of 37.

He won by one from Murray Parsons with Jim Puddy another point further back in third.
