THE Tennis Vets Society has held another successful event at the Avenue Tennis Club.

The members were well catered for by Avenue stalwarts Poo Jenkins and Lynn O’Dell.

The society has 60 members, and they organise tennis tournaments in the South West each year.

They started nine years ago and during that time have raised more than £16,000 for local charities.

For the past few years they have held an event at Avenue, and have raised a considerable amount of money for Help the Child.

Help the Child is a local charity run entirely by volunteers who raise funds to provide equipment and aids for disabled and visually impaired children throughout Somerset which is not available from other sources such as the NHS.
