BURNHAM United Ladies continued their impressive start to the season with an emphatic win away to Wellington on Sunday.

Abi Connick made it seven goals for the season by scoring a hat-trick, with Vanessa Brill (2) and substitute Cori Martin also on target.

Four games into the season, the newly-formed Burnham side sit third in the Division 1 standings, with two wins and two draws so far.

This coming Sunday, Burnham host Pen Mill Reserves (ko 3pm), their opponents currently in seventh.

Keynsham Town Reserves 4, Burnham United 2

IT was another Saturday of struggle for Burnham’s men’s sides, with the 1st XI beaten 4-2 at Keynsham Town Reserves.

Liam Crispin’s brace proved decisive for the hosts, who also had Jamie Noble and Aaron Osborne on the scoresheet.

Russell Holley and substitute Harrison Givens netted for Burnham, who have sunk to third from bottom in Division 1 after their third defeat from four matches.

This Saturday, Burnham are at home to fellow strugglers Wells City Reserves (ko 3pm).

In Division 3 of the County League, Burnham United Reserves tasted more success, winning 3-2 at Congresbury.

Thomas Clarke, Shaun Lismore and Dax Vincent secured their side the points, with Jordan Sole and Jay Murray replying for the home side.

This Saturday, sixth-placed Burnham travel to basement side Stockwood Green Reserves (ko 3pm).

Burnham's A and B teams both suffered defeat in the Weston-super-Mare & District League last Saturday.

Burnham A lost 7-4 at early Division 3 leaders Selkirk United, despite goals for Mark Clitsome (2), Alex Plume and Joseph Wall.

Wesley Bracey netted a hat-trick for Selkirk.

Pointless after two games, Burnham go to West Wick on October 6.

In Division 4, Burnham B lost 2-1 at home to Wedmore Reserves, with Steven Eley’s goal proving a consolation.

On Saturday Burnham B host Hutton A, while Wedmore Reserves are at Weston Town.

Wedmore’s 1st XI beat Wrington Redhill Reserves in the Atwell Memorial Shield.
