TOM Banton, a star of Somerset’s run to the Royal London One-Day Cup final, is set to make his first appearance of the season for Taunton St Andrew’s tomorrow.

The Saints, who have lost their opening two matches, travel to Bath, the early WEPL Premier 1 leaders who have two wins from two.

Banton has made two centuries and two fifties on Somerset’s road to Lord’s and is likely to be joined at the top of the Saints order by his county team-mate Eddie Byrom.

Youngsters George Thomas and James Rew are unavailable due to school commitments with King’s College.

Bath's team includes Somerset's Tim Rouse and Gloucestershire's George Hankins.

In Premier 2 Bristol/Somerset, Taunton Deane host Winterbourne, hoping to maintain their 100 per cent start and avoid running into the two Gloucestershire stars who featured last weekend.

James Bracey and Glos skipper Chris Dent both shone in Winterbourne’s win over Ilminster, although their County Championship match with Glamorgan – in which Bracey made 152 in the first innings – has run into Friday afternoon, and that could put their participation in doubt.

Taunton, boosted by a narrow win over Shapwick & Polden last Saturday, host Weston-super-Mare at Taunton Vale tomorrow.

Somerset seamer Ollie Sale is due to line up for the hosts, while visitors Weston include Somerset stalwart Peter Trego for the first time this season.

In the Somerset Division, Wellington host Frome and Minehead welcome early leaders Chard.
