SOMERSET County Cricket Club has released an update on the situation following its termination of Andrew Cornish's term of employment as chief executive last Friday (August 23).
The club statement says: "Somerset County Cricket Club is pleased to report that former committee member Malcolm Derry has been engaged on a consultative basis.
"Malcolm will support the executive team as we complete the 2019 season, and look forward with confidence to 2020 and the recruitment of a chief executive.
"Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our members and supporters for your patience, understanding and support during this period."
Derry had served as the club's honourary treasurer, but stepped down from the role at the club AGM in January 2019, after six years of service.
