SOMERSET players Tom Banton and Lewis Gregory helped England level up the five-match series with New Zealand, going into the final game on Sunday.

Banton made 31 off 20 balls at the top of the order, but Gregory did not bat or bowl during England's 76-run win in Napier.

The star of the show was Dawid Malan, who hit the fastest T20 century by an England batsman – 103no from 51 balls.

Banton, 20, struck four fours and a six in another sparkling cameo, before being trapped lbw by Mitchell Santner when attempting to sweep.

From 58-2, Malan and Eoin Morgan (91 from 41 balls) sprinted to 240 before the next wicket fell.

Set 242 to win, the hosts were never really in the chase as Matt Parkinson (4-47) and Chris Jordan (2-24) helped hustle them out for 165.

Banton took two catches, to dismiss Colin de Grandhomme and Ross Taylor.

The final match in the series – now level at 2-2 – takes place in Auckland on Sunday (1am UK time).
