TAUNTON-BORN cricketer Jos Buttler is among the figures from the world of sport to be recognised in the Queen's New Year Honours list.
Buttler is one of five English Cricket World Cup winners to receive an honour, alongside Eoin Morgan, Joe Root and Ben Stokes - plus coach Trevor Bayliss.
Having grown up in Wedmore and studied at King's College, Taunton, 29-year-old Buttler has gone on to become an England Test and white ball stalwart, and is now an MBE.
There is also an OBE for 11-time British jump racing champion trainer Paul Nicholls, whose stables are based at Ditcheat, Somerset.
