Division 1
Burnham Utd 2, Timsbury Athletic 1

BURNHAM continued their recent good form by making it three wins in a row with Saturday’s 2-1 home victory over league leaders Timsbury Athletic, keeping the Seasiders second in the table.

United started on the front foot, taking the game to the visitors, and scored on 36 minutes.

A ball out of defence found Curtis Bradshaw, who squared it for the oncoming Josh Watkins to calmly slot home and make it 1-0 at the break.

The visitors drew level on 54 minutes, through Rhys Cook, but Burnham were undeterred as they kept on pressing.

Bradshaw hit the post with a right-footed strike and, with 70 minutes on the clock, Cameron Birch fired home to put Burnham 2-1 up.

Kane Powell was sent off for a second yellow card, but the hosts held firm to secure the three points.

Tunley Athletic 1, Burnham Utd Res 6

BURNHAM United Reserves got back to winning ways with a convincing victory at Tunley Athletic.

Benny Windram put the Seasiders ahead with a cool finish and, shortly afterwards, Tunley were reduced to 10 men after goalkeeper Ryan Edmunds was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident.

Tunley equalised through Keane Tanner, but Marcus Ellis put United back in front, rifling in from the corner of the 18-yard box.

Windram then grabbed his second four minutes from the end of the half, to make it 3-1 at the break.

The visitors started the second half strongly and were rewarded with a fourth goal when Windram completed his hat-trick.

Cain Smith then broke down the right and sent a teasing ball in to the back post, where a home defender scored an own goal.

Smith’s calm finish in to the bottom corner gave the Seasiders a 6-1 victory.
