TAUNTON Town have announced their fourth new signing of the week, as defender Aaron Bentley joins the club from Plymouth Parkway.

Having lost Ryan Brett, Andrew Neal, Shane White and Matt Wright last week, the Peacocks have moved to bring in strikers Gethyn Hill and Toby Holmes, midfielder Lee Lucas, and now Bentley.

The 24-year-old, who can play at centre-back or full-back, joined Plymouth Argyle's youth system in 2010 and made three first-team appearances for the Pilgrims.

Bentley joined Truro City in 2016, then moved on to Plymouth Parkway for the 2017/18 season.

Aside from brief spells at Truro again and Tiverton Town, he has stayed with Parkway up to this point.

Taunton's head of football Rob Dray told the County Gazette: "[Bentley] is right-footed but can play on the left of defence, which has sometimes been an issue for us.

"So he's flexible, and he gives us height [6 foot 3] as well.

"He's keen to come, and is an uncomplicated lad who just wants to play football."
