INTERNATIONAL cricket returned to Taunton on Wednesday afternoon, with England taking on India in the second women's one-day international at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

India made 221 from their 50 overs, captain Mithali Raj top scoring with 59 and Shafali Verma contributing 44, as Kate Cross claimed 5-34 and Sophie Ecclestone 3-33.

Lauren Winfield-Hill made 42 at the top of the order for England, but they had slipped to 133-5 before an unbroken sixth-wicket stand between Sophia Dunkley (73*) and Katherine Brunt (33*) saw the hosts to the finish line in 47.3 overs.

The result gives England a 6-2 lead in the multi-format series.
