EAST Huntspill Cricket Club have made three new overseas signings to bolster their men and women's squads for the season ahead.

First off. the announced the signing of Jaafar Shahabuddin, a Canadian-born cricketer.

Jaafar has played as a professional player for Elite Cricket Club in Dallas USA and will bring with him a wealth of experience at a high level.

The second overseas signing for the club came in the form of Australian wicket-keeper and batsman Tom Pengelly.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, 22-year-old Tom will bring his specialist skills as a wicket-keeper to East Huntspill.

He currently plays for Flinders CC in Australia.

The third signing will boost the women's side for the season ahead.

East Huntspill announced yesterday that Eveleen Kejarukua has signed for the women's team.

28-year-old Eveleen was born in Namibia and has played for the women’s national Namibia Team.

It looks as though the season ahead may be an exciting one for East Huntspill.

Situated in the village of East Huntspill, in Merry Lane, the club is ready for the 2022 season.

Pre-season friendlies have been arranged for both EHCC teams with 1st XI hosting both Wedmore CC and Butleigh CC in late April.

The 2nd XI host Burnham-On-Sea CC 2nd XI in a 30 over game in May.
