Cheddar FC has been given a boost by a local homebuilder who has renewed its sponsorship of the women’s team.

Bellway, which is building 60 new homes at its Peregrine View development in Cheddar, gave £500 to support Cheddar Ladies following on from its sponsorship of the team last year.

The money will go towards covering training expenses and equipment for the women's team throughout the winter season.

Matt Huxtable, Chairman at Cheddar FC said: “We are delighted and extremely grateful for the ongoing support Bellway Homes have shown Cheddar AFC, we are heavily reliant on donations and support from local companies so to have someone as large as Bellway Homes show such generosity is massive for the club.”

Rachel Way, Senior Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “As a local housebuilder, we are committed to supporting the community in Cheddar and that is why we have given Cheddar FC another donation for the its women’s team, Cheddar Ladies.

“The club is an important part of the local community, providing opportunities for people to get active, improve their football skills, make friends and be part of the team.

“We wish Cheddar Ladies all the best in the coming season, and we hope that our donation helps them to get the most out of their training sessions and competitive games.”
