Regional 2 Tribute South West - Winscombe 5 Tiverton 87

As the Regional 2 Tribute South West season approaches its end, Winscombe entertained Tiverton under lights for an evening fixture and went down to a heavy loss in a bruising encounter, writes John Podpadec.

Tiverton, sitting second in the league, were in no mood to put their play-off place in jeopardy and came with all guns blazing.

They had scored their bonus point try by the time the half-time whistle was blown and went into the break with a 26-0 lead.

Playing down the slope in the second period, Tiverton moved the ball wide at every opportunity and ran in a further 12 tries to seal a convincing win.

The only respite for Winscombe came midway through the half when lock Tom Hawkins powered over from short range for a try and their only score of the game.

Winscombe welcome Ivybridge to Longfield next weekend for the last game of the season.

The two teams currently sit 6th and 7th in the table, respectively, and the match looks likely to decide the final placings and bragging rights—look out for an entertaining encounter.
